What a privilege it was to meet the scriptwriter of the play we're performing! We've had a great time rehearsing for, and now performing for a limited 5 nights, "Sex Cells", a comedy/drama written by Anna Longaretti. It is such a brilliant script, a great play - full of poignancy alongside the expected humour that comes with a play set in a sex toy call centre! We were all rather nervous knowing that she was in the audience on our third night of performing - the extra pressure on everyone knowing that if we mess up, Anna's going to know! But thankfully the performance went without a hitch and we all met her afterwards and she appeared to genuinely have enjoyed our production of it. Fantastic scriptwriter, lovely person, and a privilege to perform it for her.
